What is Yoga like at our studio?
A community favourite! At the studio, our Thursday night Yin Yoga class has been the place to be for YEARS. Yin brings a more meditative approach to Yoga, cultivating awareness of inner silence, and slowing down your adrenal glands. We tend to live in a constant state of ‘fight or flight’, but the best part of Yin is that it slows you down, draws your focus to your breath, and brings you into ‘rest and digest’.
What should I expect in a Yin Yoga class?
Yin Yoga is a really passive class, we are holding postures for five minutes or more with props galore to make you super comfortable and relaxed, allow you to settle deep into your poses. Suitable for all levels of students, yin yoga incorporates lots of props so that you’re not holding yourself in the posture, rather relaxing into them. Yin is all about letting go, long holds help you slow the mind and open the body.
What should I expect in a Flow Yoga class?
Flow Yoga is a lot more muscular and dynamic than our Yin classes. Typically you will be moving through postures with your breath, which helps to strengthen the whole body, increase mobility and also get mindfulness benefits from your class.
Can you accommodate injuries?
Both our Yoga classes are taught by instructors that are trained to be able to modify for all bodies and abilities.
Do I have to be flexible to do Yoga?
No! That’s why you do it! Just with strength, flexibility comes with time and consistency. The great thing about Yoga is that it's not a one size fits all approach, so we welcome you to come as you are.
